Marcy has benefited from the work of others

Marcy has benefited enormously by the work of her fiber grandmothers and fairy godmothers (and some godfathers, too!). So now she gives back. Marcy co-founded the local guild (Chimneyville Weavers and Spinners Guild) for which she has served in various offices and committees, including President and Secretary, and as Chair of the Southeast Fiber Forum  (1997-1999) and twice Roc Day chair. She is a Fellow of the Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi, Inc., for which she served on the board, various committees, including twice on the Standards Committee which juries craftsmen into Guild membership. She is a past president of the Handweavers Guild of America, Inc and is now on the Advisory Board. She was also on the vendors’ team for past Convergences® of HGA and was the Reviewer for many of HGA's Certificate of Excellence Committees.

For her many volunteer efforts Marcy received the Presidential Volunteer Award, sponsored by the Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi, Inc.
